Dear Mr Caine,

Thank you for sending me a copy of your email I received on 12 November 2008.

Labor continues to make it up as they go. In contrast, the NSW Liberal/Nationals Coalition the policy, "Planning for Prosperity - Economic and Fiscal Priorities", to restore prosperity for families across New South Wales.

A copy of this policy, and other policies can be found at my website at: www.barryofarrell.com.au.

Thank you again for your email and taking the time to write to me.

Dear Minister,

With the mini budget handed down yesterday where it has been demonstrated that NSW is now a failed economy and you guys have little idea how to run the state I have decided to send to you a improved transport policy than the direction that you going and this will assist in getting the children to school in comfort and at a reduced cost. We recognise tat you do not believe that education is important and so I would suggest that you draw up plans to close down the schools and we could also create housing for the homeless in the former school classrooms. You will perhaps find the photo below amusing but it is very serious. Your job is to see that no barrier is placed in the way of children to get the best education that is possible and today you have degraded the education system.
You could have saved far more by a modest reduction to the payments to the former members of parliament and if their income was means tested to a $60,000 per annum you would have had greater savings than what you have made in this mini budget. Why should some luxuriate while others who are struggling be hit again and again.
The oath you took govern for the good of NSW is torn up and in the garbage bin today. If there is any fibber in you of any value tell the Premier that you cannot support this mini budget.

Yours shocked out of my socks

?Dear Mr Caine,

Thank you for sending me a copy of your email of 12 November 2008 in relation to the Rees Labor Government recently choosing to scrap free transport for NSW students.

This decision will affect hard working families across NSW, with many now having to pay up to $180 a year to transport their children to and from school.

The NSW Liberal/Nationals Coalition oppose Nathan Rees’ cuts to the Student Transport Subsidy Scheme because:

· It hits families in the hip pocket when they can least afford it.

· It puts school children’s safety at risk.

· It worsens congestions around our schools.

The NSW Liberal/Nationals will restore free travel for school children across NSW. This will ease the burden on hard working families.

You can support our decision and help hold the Rees Government accountable by signing our online petition at www.savestudenttravel.com.au

Nathan Rees is out of touch with people of NSW. It is time to send him a message that hard working families should not be forced to wear the consequences of 13 years of Labor’s incompetence and mismanagement.

Thank you again for your email.

Thanks Milton, all noted.

All the best

Subject: The Economy

Dear Sir,

I have been thinking that when we look at the economic indicators we look in an unwise manner as we look at the GDP number but we should look at the relationship of the GDP and the Gross Domestic Debt (GDD). It seems to me if we have big numbers in both GDP and GDD then we have 'now' grown the economy but not really increased assets. Many companies trade on increased debt and have no plans soon to become debt free. It is strange that there is a call for governments  to run with surpluses while the rest of the economy runs on deficits. If we look at the GDP and the GDD over the near past we should be able to predict down turns. For debt will need to be called in at some time and when it does if a debt free culture is not in place then a recession or depression is in the frame. We should have a Nett Domestic Product (NDP) the NDP would be a factor of GDP  less a factor of GDD. This would show the true worth of our country's economic activity. I have not done modelling on this but if we do not consider the debt level then we factor in future problems.

Just on the debt structure within the economy we would be better off to put in place a duty of care to all who extend credit. A person dreaming on a purchase can be easily persuaded to extend their debt to unsafe levels by good sales people who are often on commission and therefore if the credit is agreed to then the sales person gets their commission and no reward for the safe options. This is always the highway for the shady people and the banks of late have shown shadiness is very strong within their culture. It is fair to say that the free market is too free as too many people win when a loan is written and they count their money as the as the borrower goes down the tube.

The gaining of credit should be restricted to realisable 80% of the fire sale of the clients assets or at least something of that order. To have lenders prepared to lend up to 95% of the purchase price is pushing the envelope towards problems. Lower credit rate to asset value will reduce the cost of hosing as the number of people in the higher priced markets will be reduced.

These are just a few ideas that I hope will become a part of your policies.

Thank you

Milton Caine
