Letter sent to Newcastle City Council on 11 / 11 / 2008

Dear Sir / Madam,   I was delighted when I finally saw some work happening on the roundabout in Burke Place Birmingham Gardens but I was soon to be disappointed as the work is substandard and incomplete. I have many times raised concerns about the way the loose gravel stones are washed onto the roadway due to the cutting of the corners at the roundabout causing a serious traffic problem. I was pleased to meet on site with a council representee to show in person my concerns and the patch work result is an insult. It is true that there will be an improved drainage of the area but safety concerns are not met in any way. There has been no visual improvement to those who use the roundabout incorrectly as the signage is of poor quality and the patch work of the pavement is unbelievable. I cannot permit that this substandard work be left without comment and I seek an urgent reassessment of the work performed with a view that this work be redone to the correct standard. The on site assurances that I was given are not realised as the work is now claimed to be complete.   Yours disappointed, Milton Caine 8 Burke Place Birmingham Gardens 0410027593
